Crown Elara Resort & Casino was founded in 1987 by the Sullivan family, who saw a gap in Brisbane's hospitality market. They wanted to build a place that combined the thrill of gaming with the comfort of a five-star hotel. Over three decades later, their vision stands taller than ever at 100 Eagle Street, Brisbane.
The resort sits on prime riverfront land in the heart of the city. From humble beginnings with just 80 rooms, we have grown to 450 luxury suites, six restaurants, a full-service spa, a 1,200-seat theatre, and one of the largest gaming floors in Queensland.

Karen manages the gaming floor and VIP services. She has worked in casinos across Asia and Australia for 18 years. Her team of 200 dealers and staff keep the floor running smoothly.
Sophie built the Elara Spa from the ground up. A trained physiotherapist, she designed every treatment on the menu. Under her care, the spa earned its 5-star rating in 2022.
Marcus books the acts, plans the galas, and runs the theatre. He has produced over 500 events at Crown Elara. His network of artists and performers keeps our calendar packed year-round.
The Brief: Tom and Lisa Mitchell wanted a wedding for 180 guests that felt grand but personal. They had a budget of $85,000 and wanted everything in one venue.
What We Did: Our events team designed a custom package. The ceremony was held in the rooftop garden at sunset. Dinner was served in the Grand Ballroom with a menu built by Chef Liam Park. A live jazz trio played during cocktails, and a DJ took over for dancing. We arranged rooms for 60 guests at a group rate.
The Result: The Mitchells came in $3,000 under budget. Every guest stayed on-site, so there were no transport worries. The couple called it "the best day of our lives" in their thank-you note. Their wedding has since been featured in Queensland Bride magazine.
The Brief: BankWest needed a venue for their three-day national conference. They required a main stage for 500, four breakout rooms, full AV support, catering for all meals, and 300 hotel rooms.
What We Did: We dedicated our entire conference wing to BankWest. Our AV team set up live streaming for remote staff. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were handled by our catering team. We created a branded welcome pack for each delegate and ran a gala dinner on the final night.
The Result: BankWest's internal survey showed 96% of delegates rated the venue "excellent." They have since booked Crown Elara for their next two annual conferences. The deal is worth over $1.2 million in revenue.
The Brief: Crown Elara wanted to grow its VIP gaming segment. The goal was to double the number of high-roller visits within 12 months while keeping service quality high.
What We Did: Karen Tan and her team launched the Elara Black Card program. Members get a private gaming salon, dedicated host, complimentary suite, and access to exclusive events. We also partnered with airlines to offer bonus frequent flyer points for gaming spend.
The Result: VIP visits grew by 115% in the first year. Gaming revenue from the VIP segment rose by $8.4 million. The program now has 340 active members, and the waiting list has 200 names on it.
